Pork-A-Palooza

I don't know what overtook me at the grocery store yesterday but somehow I bought four different kinds of pork products for dinner this week.

This is our menu for the week:

Monday:  Pan fried pork chops, wild rice with veggies and tomatoes marinated in Italian vinegar.
Tuesday:  Kielbasa, cabbage and white potatoes crockpot style
Wednesday:  Grilled Brats, fried taters and baked beans [I am saving ALL my sodium for this meal :)]
Thursday: Baked pork chops, cauliflower, carrots and broccoli, rice
Friday:  I have absolutely no idea. hee - but I don't think it will be pork

The kids made me promise not to buy chicken for a while. Gee - I wonder why?  That's fair tho' - as I have been making a lot of it lately.  Also, I think I needed a break from it too, hence all the pork.  Or it could be they were just having an awesome sale on it.

In other food related news - Wallene and I have been trying to come up with another luncheon idea for Pooldad's office.  The only restriction is no beans [so no bean soup, pot o' beans or chili] but I would like to put it in the crockpot since Pooldad has early shift and I don't want to have to cook at 3 am :).

Any thoughts?  What would you want me to make for your lunch?

Pulled pork sandwiches- we make these with whatever pork happens to be on sale- plug in the crockpot the night before- add bbq sauce- cook all night...shred in the morning- send him with some rolls and homemade coleslaw- make sure he plugs in the crockpot on low when he gets to work...yum...

I really want to get a Wii just to watch movie from Netflix. I'm glad to read about your experience with it.

It's funny - my husband's Mom was Jewish so the only pork she would serve was bacon and tenderloin. Don't ask me why these were ok when everything else was disgusting but we are all human. Anyway, he's not inclined toward pork unless it is bacon or pork tenderloin or disguised as sausage or served without any prior knowledge of what's coming (I don't know what difference that makes).

I don't have any luncheon ideas. I'd make a curry. Or pasta primavera or maybe stew. I'm not too creative any more.

Let's see you could do sweet and sour meatballs or boneless pork. That always goes well in the slow cooker.
