30 Days of Truth: Day Sixteen

Day Sixteen:  Someone or something you could live without.

I can, and do, live without avocados.

I hate avocados.  The texture, the smell.  Everything about them just makes me think "ick."  I want to run away when I see them sliced on a salad or in guacamole.  Don't dollop that green goo on my nachos, thankyouverymuch.  It makes me laugh that they charge extra in restaurants for a small serving of that nasty.  Ewww.

It is sad really - because they have great nutritional value and they add such pretty color to a meal but, no.  Just no.  Squirrel loves them in any of their incantations but I can't and won't be around when she eats them. [Thank god my other kids love me more.] They just remind me of a baby's diaper after you have introduced them to Gerber's strained peas, y'know? Think about it.  ::shudder::

Don't hate.

Hey, I was going for something light hearted, but I really and truly hate avocados. So there. :P

My dinner:

It was tasty.  I couldn't quite finish it all.
Pooldad's version:

There is something so inherently wrong and unfair here. hee.

Hey avocado hater. Thats just too funny....and you can eat pumpkin and it looks like what??????????? I'm just saying. tee hee. Dear girl, you are a riot. Growing up, here in Tacoville USA, I never even heard of Guacamole. The in the 70's every Mex. restaurant in the city had guac on the menu. And then the California influence and sprouts and avocado invaded. And then I grew my own tree and well yum, yum and yum. But thanks for the diaper visual.

Love avacados.
Your dinner didnt look bad. Im assuming that it was bland minus the salt. Today's meal plan is for...low fat everything...chicken breast, mashed potatoes (which are really not so exciting when low fat) and cauliflower (again, minus the cheese, what is the point?)is making me not want to eat this evening.

Love avacados. At least I did until the diaper, Gerber baby food strained peas! Now I'll envision that every time I see an avacado. Thanks Skippy! jk. lol

I happen to LOVE avocadoes when they're freshly sliced with a little salt and lemon juice . . . but most versions of guacamole I've met, I could do without. The texture, the color--it can easily go so wrong.

I see what's wrong with that have no silverware. What's up with that?

Love me some avocado--plain, in a salad, on a sammy or in guacamole. Doesn't matter--pass the dish to me.

I would not die without avocados. Remember back when appliances were available in avocado green? Well I didn't know what one was then. We couldn't get them here as far as I know.

I know what you mean about the texture - I'm sure in my youth they would have made me gag so they are best mixed up with other stuff for me - like guacamole.

Ha - seeing my Wholly Guacamole loot must have made you throw up in your mouth a little bit!

I am enjoying chicken fajitas in a lettuce bowl as we speak with a 100 calories pack of GUACAMOLE!

Love advocado, only fresh, though. Can't stand that stuff in the jar on the grocery shelf ....

Heyyyyyyyy Skippy, psssst over here >>>> I'm with you on the avacado thing! I don't mind fresh made guacamole but don't think I could eat them just for them, like in sandwiches or in a salad. I know they say they are good for you but then so are a lot of other things that I might not necessarily enjoy. So pass the peas please!!!!

Guess we can take it from that that you don't like avocadoes, then SkippyMom!!!
