I have food on the brain.
With the cold weather visiting for a few days I am keen to make some comfort food.
Add the bonus of a daughter home from college [YAY!] and I have really been thinking about food.
When I asked Squirrel what she wanted to eat this weekend she simply said "Mom food."
So Mom food it is.
Chili in the crockpot today, with cheese, onions and sour cream. Side of cornbread.
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn tomorrow. Side of yeast rolls.
A big french toast breakfast before we leave on Sunday. [This is sort of selfish, hee, because I want to use more of the pure maple syrup I received as a gift! Thank you Colenic!]

It really is chilly today. This also excites me because you know what that means - right? The "Skippy's EPIC Sweater Collection" :said in a booming announcer voice: is getting ready to make a reappearance. Yippee!

I absolutely love the cooler weather. Makes me want to knit sweater and bake.

Oooh, chili sounds good. The weather's a little cooler here today, too, and it's supposed to last over the weekend. But I'll be taking advantage of the weather by opening the windows and painting the living room and hallways. (If ya don't hear from me for a while, it'll be because I'm flat on my back moaning!)

I totally agree that Robertson is a tool. I won't say more because I would really be impolite!
And over here we would love to have some warmer weather ;) it's funny isn't it. We've had no thing called summer this year, only rain...wind..more rain...and more wind....lol! Chili sounds nice - hope you enjoy your meal. Glad to hear that your daughter is there with you :)

I see I had missed your birthday my bad was so busy yesterday running around shopping then had to pick grandsons up and take them home was a very busy day and I was glad when the day was over.......anyway hope you had a great birthday and now I want fried chicked......
