At Least We'll Be Popular. I Think.

Wallene was eating breakfast the other day when she happen to mention that her friends were jealous that she had Pooldad and I as parents.

I had to laugh and ask her why?  She said, "Because you let me eat pizza for breakfast. And sometimes you let me stay home from school just because."

Yes, I am waiting for C hild P rotective S ervices as we speak.  heehee

Let's be clear. She doesn't get pizza for breakfast all the time.  I swear.  In fact, we rarely have leftovers of pizza because I don't like any pizza except Nino's [NC] and Bizzy's homemade.  But breakfast is the most important meal of the day and since Wallene's favorite pizza is pineapple - I figure she is eating fruit, veggies [sauce], protein [cheese] and grains [crust].  I know - I can rationalize anything. Just give me a minute and a blog. I am there.

As for staying home "just because" - okay, okay - I will grant her the Super Bowl sleep hangover was kind of special [I was still within my rights], but the day of the wicked lightening storm?  There was just no way she was walking to the bus stop that day.  I had no choice but to keep her home.

I am her Mom and as long as her Dad and I are on the same page - we are raising her the way we want.  But really?  No one allows their kids pizza for breakfast on occasion or has let them stay home when they weren't sick?

C'mon. I can't believe I am the only one. :D

Wallene's Great Aunt sent us a nice little gift and since Wallene has never had a birthday party with friends we thought it might be nice to have a few of her friends go to a bowling party on Saturday.  This will be the first time ever she has celebrated with anyone other than us, so it promises to be fun. 6 14 year old girls bowling for two hours [with soda, pizza, ice cream and cake thrown in] I think it will be a fun afternoon at Bowl America.  [You didn't think I was having them all over here did you? Pish.  Perish the thought.]  And B/A has the most fantastic, all inclusive deal.  I was shocked.  And happy.  We only have to provide her cake.

At least our "reputation" proceeds us. And we'll be sending home the leftover pizza so all her friends can try and see if they can have it for breakfast. giggle

I hope y'all had a great Tuesday and Wednesday is even better!  See ya' on the flipside.

I would eat breakfast more often if there was more cold pizza in the fridge. Pizza is a basic food group where I come from.

Pizza is one of the few things I enjoy eating for breakfast. French toast is not one of them.

Our kids had bowling parties and loved them. It's nice when the venue takes all the work out of hosting.

Happy Birthday Wallene! Remember, the camera was my idea! ;)

Sorry you've been hurting so much lately - is it easing at all? My old painkillers are respiratory suppressors so I doubt you can take them. If you could, I would send them somehow. (I know I'll be crossing the border in December - I could just pop them in the mail from there. - Gary's pushing to do something before then).

I wish you could live life on the outside they way you live it on the inside. I don't know how you remain so positive. Never apologize for having a bad day. If you can't be real here, then what's the point?

(((hugs)))

You ARE the coolest parents! You even have cool names! I could eat pizza for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. I would only take breaks for bowling. I think I could be adopted right into your family without being noticed.

Squee! I totally let my three-year-old have pizza for breakfast on the rare occasions that we have any left over from the night before. She likes it cold! (of course, she also likes cold spaghetti, cold waffles, cold mac n cheese... are we seeing a trend here??) Enjoy bowling and party!!

My kids get to eat ice cream for breakfast at least once a month. But usually just on Sundays.

And we're not talking about the Saturday sfter the wedding when we ate wedding cake the entire day.

Hey? You think if CPS came, they could take me away, put me in a quiet room, and let me sleep?

Just thinking out loud here...

Ok I have never let my girls have pizza for breakfast but I have let them have ice cream for breakfast.....

I have let my girls stay home from school just because they didn't want to go to the sports day they are not into sports I also let them stay home when the weather was so bad that I didn't want to drive in it..........

Also once my girls became 18yrs old which is the age you have to be here in Aus to vote and drink then they did not have curfews as I feel if they are old enough to join the army and go to war then they are old enough not to have a curfew.....

Pizza for breakfast sounds good to me. Food is food. Why is pizza ok for lunch and dinner but not breakfast. Just like you can eat eggs and toast or pancakes for dinner. We are very weird over here in America.

You are such a fun mom! Lucky kiddo! My kids would LOVE to eat pizza for breakfast. Unfortunately, my husband and I always eat any potential breakfast pizza leftovers after the rugrats are in bed.

I love pineapple pizza too! Healthful AND delicious!!!

You left the super sweetest comment on my blog the other day. Thanks! I think we should definitely be friends too, me and you! :)

We've let Lydie stay home before. Hubs says, "Let's let the other kids catch up." I say, if she's doing well in school and responsible, what the heck.

I know for sure that my daughter eats stuff for breakfast that my mum would turn in her grave if she knew!!!

It's either that or she eats nothing so I figure, better something unhealthy than nothing at all.

I also let her play "hoookie" on days when she is extremely extremely tired and the deal is that she has to study when she gets up instead :)

Considering her grades are really really good, I think it has done her no harm at all.

My oldest son makes big plates of leftovers for breakfast. Pasta or rice and then we'll mix in whatever's in the frig. (The time he mixed rice, sauteed vegetables, tuna and a sliced banana I passed when he offered me some.) It never occurred to me to stop him, Child Protective Services or not.

Keep doin' what you're doin'!

At my house I don't care what they eat as long as they eat something! The kids and I all have a tendency to skip breakfast since we find it hard to eat first thing upon getting up. I am working on getting myself to eat something once I get to work.

As far as the "mental health" days... I take them and as long as the kids were on top of their grades etc. I was ok with that. Everyone needs a day off now and then! ;D

I think you deserve an A* for being such a good mum, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! Pizza or no pizza, bunking off or no bunking off!! What an amazing birthday this is turning out to be for Wallene, one way or another. That Bowling Party will be a real hoot and they will all have such a great time. I love bowling myself,so do you think she would notice if I just tagged along at the end. I'm probably smaller than a lot of them anyway! LOL!!

Absolutely, pizza for breakfast every now and then is AOK! Ditto letting them skip school if you think it's a good reason, and they're not behind on their schoolwork. Our kids' friends used to think I was "cool", too, and would sometimes hang out here at the house with me, even when our kids weren't home.
