An Earthquake? YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME.

We just had an earthquake. Shot the dog right off the couch and things were falling.

In VIRGINIA.  5.9 magnitude.  The epicenter is in Mineral, VA.

I hope that everyone is okay wherever you are on the east coast as this reached as far north as New York and as far south as South Carolina.

Excuse me while I go pick up. And catch my breath.

This was SO NOT on my bucket list.

We're in central Virginia and felt it in a big way! I had my son at the dentist's office and was checking out when it hit. The buuilding is full of skylights and we ran out to the parking lot. People looked at us like we were crazy, but we are not up for more disasters in our lives! Hope all is well where you are!

We got nothing here in Boston.

Course, having all boys in a small house lessens the effect of any natural disaster for me.

When the roof caves in, I may notice. Unless of course, I'm still in the basement doing laundry...

So glad you're ok.

Hi Skippy! Glad to hear you're okay. We felt it here, too. Everyone freaked out real good. And please dont' worryr about me. This earth movement in no way shapeless or formless will interfere with tonight's scheduled cake-eating. Just sayin'. xo

Scary. Glad you are okay! The intense heat has returned here. Very strange weather all over...... by strange, I mean out of the ordinary.

They say people here in Ft. Wayne felt it, but that must have been people not at work. We've not had nothing worse than a 3 out this way. And hey, isn't the dog supposed to warn you BEFORE it hits?

I'm so glad that everyone is okay, too! Should you get aftershocks, or another five-pointer, please do NOT run outside. Get away from windows or anything breakable. If you go outside, any debris could hit you. I've been through a few in SoCal and I wouldn't wish them on anyone!

Hubby and I were at the cottage in SE Michigan and felt it. The cottage is on a large island that is reached by boat or auto ferry. I have a sister-in-law who won't stay here overnight because she is afraid the island will sink. She knows that isn't rational, but that is how she feels.

I have felt slight tremors twice in Michigan but both times I was at home. My first thought yesterday? OMG...my sister-in-law might be right! LOL!

I couldn't find anything on TV news or online right away. My first source for what had happened was Facebook.

I contacted my relatives in VA right away - my Aunt, who lives in Richmond, said it felt like a freight train was going to split her house in two - so crazy!

Glad you are okay!

Strangely enough, we have one in Southern CO as well. They hadn't had one that strong in 40 years. Then, you had yours. Coincidence?
