Free Doughnut Day

Friday is National Doughnut Day and participating Krispy Kremes and Dunkin Donuts are giving away a free donut.
~
At Dunkin Donuts you have to purchase a beverage to get a free doughnut but Krispy Kreme is no purchase required.
~
Woohoo! Free doughnuts.
~
I am either going to get an old fashioned sprinkled with sugar [pictured] or an apple cinnamon.
~
How about you?

Aaargh! Donuts... my secret love, my addiction, my downfall.
The nearest Krispy Kreme store is 45min away. That, Skippy darling, is a good thing. I have been known to eat a mixed half dozen KKs in one sitting. I love them THAT much. Its better for my health(& ass size) that I dont eat them.
Sob.

I'm with Linda--my favs are maple/caramel iced Persians (a cinnamon swirled donut).

Unfortunately there are no Krispy Kremes in Wyoming and no Dunkin Donuts within 100 miles. So that was just cruel, Skippy.

Don't know that we have a doughnut day in Canada. In any event, there are no Dunkin Donuts here, and Krispy Kreme did not survive long in spite of the huge buildup. I think their product was just too sweet and greasy for the locals. Tim Horton's may have begun as a doughnut shop but it's the coffee that has kept them going.
