Funniest Thing I Saw This Morning

Please keep in mind that it has not started snowing yet. It will not begin until around noon.

Okay? Okay.

I was watching our local news at 6 am this morning and they are all twisted up about the "Storm of the Century" - yes that is what they are calling it and I will repeat - it hasn't even started.

But that isn't the funny part.

Traffic is a big concern in our part of the world. We are ranked 3rd in the US for having the worst traffic congestion. So traffic is always newsworthy. Our local news stations have traffic reporters [Hi Lisa Baden, love you! Could you please find a stylist tho'? We are running out of snarky comments for your poor fashion sense] and stationary cameras on the busiest routes plus Traffic Choppers. No kidding.

Except traffic wasn't the news this morning [as usual] the impending snow was. Instead of using the Traffic Choppers to scope out accidents or gridlock they found a NEW purpose for it because, since everything is already shut down [with no snow], there was no traffic.

Would anyone like to venture a guess of what they were doing with their Traffic Choppers?

No? Oh Tadpoles I laughed. Hard.

They were flying around to various GROCERY STORES and FILMING the PARKING LOTS. Which were full. At 6 am. Because you just know that we are going to be snowed in for eternity. Or Monday. Whichever comes first.

Really? This is a good use of a Traffic Chopper? Grocery store parking lots? I love the snow, y'all know that, but honest to goodness? I could live without the panic and the "End of the World" mentality everyone gets when we are faced with a lot of snow. It is ridiculous.

I know exactly what you mean :) Yesterday after work I stopped @ the grocery store to pick up something to make for dinner... the place was a mob scene. It was unbelievable you would think we were going to be holed up for a month...
It is annoying that all of our weather people here are giving out varying reports- one says 6-12" another 12-18" another 8-14". If you look at them all combined it's a safe bet we will get something between 6-18"... um kinda a large gap there...

You are getting more snow this year than where I am. Hard to believe.

Okay lovie, I got the picture. Hard for my to wrap my mind around panic. We live in the land of Manana..tomorrow is good enough for me. That's a song by the way. But makes me wonder.....what would it be like if it was something truly panic worthy? Wow, now that's a picture I don't want to see. I've told you that 3 wet snowflakes will drop this city to it's knees. All around us the weather has been horrible. On the other side of the mountain, the folks are getting snow every other day. But here we sit...lalalalala, nothing. But we ain't got no stinkin panic in ABQ..now if we had a green chile shortage that's another story, the world would be coming to an end. LOL
vert word...undes..We'll be fine undes we get three wet snowflakes.

It is snowing steadily here and we have a nice white cover on the ground! I have water and a washing machine that works, wood for the stove, plenty of coffee and dog food. No need to shop!

What a bunch of pansies! :) I don't think our schools would even shut down for that much snow. :)
