What is Up With this Rain?

Jiminy crickets! It just won't stop. We went into the spring season with a deficit of 9.5 inches of rain and were facing drought conditions this summer if something didn't happen. Well, the heavens opened up because it has rained almost everyday for the past month. Some of these storms are heavy and we end up with 2 - 3.5 inches of rain in one storm.

I know this is really boring, but the reason I am posting this is because the rain woke me up this morning at 6 am. It is pouring! We have a creek by our home that has a bridge over it that has been impassable for a week because of flooding. I peeked out this morning and it will be a long time before the neighborhood can cross this creek - it is up over 3 feet [usually it is about 2 in. deep].

We have been trying to get the roofers out to repair some shingles that blew off in April. Seems they can't work in the rain and won't make an appointment if the forecast even hints at rain. And they have predicted rain everyday for nearly the last month. Hopefully they will keep their appointment for Monday because I don't know how much longer we are going to not have a leak at this point.

Better not leak - the missing shingles are right above my bed. :0

You may have to install an oil cloth canopy over your bed, if it takes the roofers that long.

I agree-I thought the adage was, April showers bring May flowers. It has rained almost every single day here for a week straight. Yesterday and today were the exceptions.

It has been cool and raining a lot here this month too. Let's hope it changes quick.

I wish you could send some of it this way. I don't remember when we saw a good rain here. The other night it started to sprinkle and I was giddy.

We've been getting a few little showers, but nothing of any substance. So along with Amy, if you could send me some, I'd love that. So would my vegetable garden. :)

I thought you might like the most recent post I wrote on my blog, So You Want To Be a Banquet Manager. It's about a crazy bride that insisted on getting married outside in the rain.

Hope you enjoy it.

The weather here has been amazing (not in the good way) too. Here's to better weather soon!
