I wouldn't bring this up right now as it is Christmas [and wasn't I having a great time], but seems my Mom is failing hard and Christmas isn't looking too bright in her lil' swamp in SC.
She is being put in the ICU tonight. Her lung capacity is down to 17% and she is being quite combative.
So, a lil' "Hey Patti - hang in there - 'till Skippy gets there." would work wonders for me.
We can't leave until ...sometime [tomorrow? Thurday?] soon, so I will be around 'till then. Guess my doctor was wrong - I
Just think something nice. For my family - okay?

Oh Skippy I am so sorry to hear this... I know from personal experience how hard it is when you get that phone call... you feel like someone has just squeezed all the air out of you. Take a breath and say to yourself..."it will be ok". Drive carefully- she would rather you be a bit longer & in one piece- keep us posted... my prayers are with you!
