Wallene's was one of the attendants at her best friend's Quinceaera [15th birthday party] this past weekend. It was a huge shindig and from the pictures it looks as tho' a wonderful time was had by all.
Her Daddy went with her and they had great stories of the party. We are glad Wallene was able to share in such a special day with Ella.
I wish I could write more, but for now? This is the best I can do. Enjoy the pics. :) [For the record: Yes, Wallene's hair is now red. :) ]

Sorry for the quality of the pics - Dad was using Wallene's new camera. And my apologies for the order of things. I am too tired to rearrange them. hee
Hope y'all are having a wonderful week. Take care!

I'm afraid I don't understand the Quinceanera fuss. It seems like a lot of money to spend on somebody's birthday. Did all the girls have to buy those matching dresses or did the family provide them? Weddings are bad enough but to have to buy a dress for a girl's birthday seems a little too much for me.
Looks like a fun time! I love Wallene's red hair! I was a redhead for awhile and redheads have more fun, dontcha know - oh, but I forgot you're her mom and you might not want to hear that! GOOD, CLEAN fun is what I meant, of course...ah-hem.
Take care, Skippy. Hope all is well with you :)
They all look so beautiful - and grown up (without being too grown up). While I'm kind of glad I didn't have the expense of throwing a Quinceaera (sp?) for my kid, at least to the degree of formality shown here - WOW!!! - still - I do love the idea of the coming of age parties - it would be an interesting sociological study to document whether such an event has any effect on the individual's confidence or whatever. I'm pretty sure they were a marketing ploy for girls of marriageable age at one time. But still... who doesn't love a party? And I guess it's good practise for a future wedding.
Hi Skippy - First of all, I love the colour of Wallene's hair. Your beautiful daughter is really turning into a lovely young woman! I've never heard of Quinceanera Festivities before. Crumbs, it looks as if it had cost a lot of money. Is 15 a special birthday over there then?? All the young ones looked very smart in their outfits, and I'm sure Wallene had a super time. Does that mean that you will be doing this for Wallene's 15th birthday? Gosh!! Look after yourself dear friend, and sending you hugs from across the pond. x
So awesome! I didn't know anyone still had these anymore. :)
Looks like so much fun, and what an experience. Clearly the event had alot of hispanic infulence which is so great to experience first hand.
So jealous.
And I LOVE the red hair. ;)
love the red hair! they all look fantastic!!!
15 is a very big birthday in Hispanic culture. Looks like Ella's family went all out for hers.
sorry you're under the weather with fatigue.
My neighbor across the street in the city gave their daughter a Quincenera. I can understand coming of age ceremonies and parties but I don't get the wedding theme.
Hope you are doing OK.
Wow. Looks like it was incredibly fun and beautiful. What a lovely tradition.
corstli've never heard of this before!!
I'd be interested to know the roots of it
Wallene looked beautiful. (as if you didn't know) There are a lot of Hispanics in our area, so these parties are pretty common around here. Not sure I understand the significance of the 15th birthday and the outlay of all that cash to celebrate it, though. (Best as I can remember, when our daughter turned 15, I think we took her and a few friends bowling and out to dinner, then back home for a sleep-over.)
