How To Make a S'More or "Taking One For the Blog"

Since some of my belovely Tadpoles do not know what a s'more is I thought that I would do a quick tutorial on the wonderfulness of this dessert treat.

It is historically made while camping, over an open fire, but can easily be made if you have a hot charcoal grill and the ingredients necessary.

Wallene gladly offered herself up to "take one for the blog" by helping me make [and consume] this yummy treat.

Just follow the pictures and you will get the idea.  For all my American Tadpoles that know the goodness that is a s'more, I apologize - but grab a napkin now. :)

Enjoy.
You need one graham cracker, a mini bar or piece of chocolate, two marshmallows and a skewer:

 Skewer your marshmallows:
Hold over your coals or wood fire:
Until lightly golden and melty:
Break your graham cracker in half:
 Apply the chocolate:
Place the hot marshmallows onto the chocolate:
Then top it off with the other piece of graham cracker:
 SMOOSH!
 See the melty, smooshy, goodness?
 Enjoy!
They are really simple but oh, ho, ho, so good!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous evening or a wonderful morning but an especially all around good time regardless of your time zone [you guys are hard to keep up with!.]

PS - I have been known to mail graham crackers to far flung places on the earth so if you are craving a s'more and the grahams aren't available - just email me. :D Everyone should enjoy these at least once in a lifetime. They are smile worthy.

Thank you Wallene. And your pink nails. :)

Oh my, oh my SkippyMom - you've excelled yourself with that one today!! Yum and double yum! I can taste it right now. Chocolate and melted marshmallows - it doesn't get much better than that! Hee Hee!! We don't have Graham crackers, but we have Jacobs Cream Crackers, which are probably the same thing. (I don't know why they're called Cream Crackers, because there's no cream involved - just a dry biscuit for cheese!). Hugs.

Mmmm. This smooshed delicacy would be hit with the youngest Greedies. They, too, do not now what a S'mores is (yet).

I like my marshmallow BURNT... like... BLACK. Then I pick the burnt part off and eat it by itself. OMG.

Yum. It's been a while since I ate one of those, but I'll have to agree with you about how wonderfully yummy ooey gooey they are. I think there's even a "kit" on the market for making them in the microwave now, but somehow, I can't imagine that they'd be nearly as good as doing them over an open campfire.

Totally agree except I toast my marshmallows a bit more and 2) what's up with skimping on the chocolate bar? Half a FULL bar is the way to go! Because if it ain't gushing out all four sides, dripping marshmallow and chocolate, then you didn't do it right.

It's raining. Again. So no fires for us.

word vert:picut. That s'more looks so good that I would picut off the page if I could.

Yumm! Just the other day, I saw that they are now making flat marshmallows, to facilitate s'more making, I suppose. Although, what does it matter when it is getting smooshed? :-)

word vert: I cursu for bringing up the topic of s'mores, especially since I haven't had breakfast yet :-)

The best time I ever had eating these delectable treats, was at a hoity-toity restaurant in Chicago. The waiter brought a tiny personal hibachi grill and all the fixings to the table where the four of us slightly tipsy women proceeded to have a blast making our own desserts. What's most memorable about that dinner? Besides the brick grilled chicken my best friend had for her entree (I still think about that chicken)? The S'mores.

And, if you're really desperate, you can (don't ask me how I know) get your marshmallows melty with your electric range. Or, your gas range. Or, your microwave.

What a wonderful and very important tutorial! I simply cannot imagine that there might be some deprived people out there who've never enjoyed a smore!?! Say it ain't so, Skippy!!! (giggles...did I use enough exclamation points in that paragraph?!?)

Seriously, great minds think alike because hubby brought home smores fixins Saturday and we've been lovin' on em too. If you're too lazy to fire up the grill, the microwave works for melting the marshmallows in just a few seconds but you don't get the same "ambiance," as you well know, I'm sure.

Enjoy all that oooey, gooey yumminess! :D

I've never been a fan of marshmallows. I know, call me weird but give me some chocolate or even chocolate graham crackers and I'll be a happy camper too. What a good sport Wallene is.

Yep, long ago I have deemed smores insulin worthy! Nice coals!
