This Actually Works!

My beloved MIL forwarded this to me today and I tho' I am always skeptical of email forwards, this actually works.

It is a video showing how to sharpen your knives.  I hate dull knives, don't you?  But I am too cheap and lazy to have them professionally sharpened. I was thrilled that I can do this anytime in the comfort of my own home.

I even own the knife they show in the video.  It isn't an expensive knife - just one I received in a give away at my local grocery store. It is my favorite knife.

Enjoy! [The video is incredibly short and you don't need the volume if you are at work.]

One of our local kitcheny kind of stores usually hosts knife sharpening twice a year. $5 to sharpen is pretty cheap.

Since I'm not allowed to touch the knives, Dan is in charge. He likes expensive knives but not expensive sharpening.

Thanks for sharing! I have two really great knives, I use them all the time, should think about sharpening them soon.

There really is nothing better than a good knife when you're cooking. :)

very cool. i will definitely have to remember that. i'm dangerous with knives. tend to cut myself. i'd never use one that big. i'd seriously do some damage. lol.

Well - there you are. I actually have numerous knife sharpeners and my knives are still always dull. Why? not because I don't use them but because I had the angle all wrong!!! I held the knife too flat to the sharpener - no wonder it seemed to take forever to get an edge. But I tried the cup anyway - works great!

I remember as a child a guy would go through the alley with a knife sharpening cart - he would ring his bell and my Mom would have us kids gather all the knives to be sharpened.

Okay, just typing that makes me feel old!

Happy Friday Skip!
