I Solved the Cookie Dilemma/Guilt

Since I had no vanilla and couldn't make cookies to bring to our daughter, Squirrel, at college I found a solution that makes me a [wee] bit happier.

Who knew you could buy fresh baked cookies, delivered warm, with cold milk, to your kid's dorm room? [Duke Mom #1 - did you know about this?]

Not I.  Until today.

Yipppeee!

I went on line and entered cookies, her college name and Google popped out a company called "Campus Cookies."

I went to their website and ordered this:
This will be a fun, late night snack for her while studying, I think.  Mondays are her hardest days because she has 4 of her classes in a row.

I hope this makes her happy.

I know these make me very happy - again!
Pooldad surprised me flowers
Plus! He is making Chicken Manicotti for dinner.
In progress.

After an hour add the cheese.

Ta da! Done!

How did I get so lucky?

We used to send Devon chocolate dipped strawberries when she was in college. When she won an award or when she was stressing over exams. She would love it. I'm sure she will love it.

P.S. You only get back what you give!

that's an awesome idea! wonder if they deliver places that AREN'T campuses? lol...

dinner looks pretty darn tasty. i opted for store-broasted chicken since i had to stop and pick up essentials in case we get snowed in.

I think any kind of small surprise, that lets your loved ones know you are thinking of them, will always be treasured. The cookies sound delicious, although I could do without the milk :-) Maybe I'll put cookies on my list of things to do if I have a snow day.

What a neat idea! The cookies, I mean.

Manicotti! Denny used to make that but now that there's just the two of us it doesn't happen. Pooldad is da bomb!

I think I will accidentally on purpose leave the recipe out at my Granny's house :)

Chicken manicotti? Never heard of it. It sounds delicious. I make manicotti with ground beef and spinach. But I'd love to eliminate all recipes with ground beef from my collection.

You ARE lucky! My husband comes up with some pretty awful stuff when he decides to make dinner. He doesn't know what he's doing, won't read a recipe and he's not so good at winging it. And although he's uber critical about what I make, he can't bear that anyone say anything but superlatives about what he makes.

It never occurred to me to send cookies to my kids when they were away. I did send mattresses though.

What a brilliant idea, Skippy! I'm sure Squirrel will be over the moon! I've said this before, but you sure have a good 'un in Pooldad, but I know that you know that already! (And he's lucky to have you, of course).

Squirrel is lucky too! My campus offers that sort of stuff & honestly, I never want it or have any need for it, but surprise packages are always a mood booster!
