I have to hand it to my Mother. She got even in the end.
The second line of her Will reads: "I wish to disinherit my son, [his name], from my estate."
Now please don't go thinking my Mom was a vindictive woman. She was just fed up with my brother and his shenanigans. And by "shenanigans" I mean that he is the biggest jerk I know.
I swear if he comes near me at the funeral I will whack him with my cane.
That is IF he shows up.

Oh, dear. I hope things are peaceful.
Don't worry Rudee. My sister and I are pretty quiet people. I just used the cane line for comic relief.
loves your mom :)
She knew how not to be forgotten
Hey, are you sure your Mom and mine weren't related? Same song, different words.
Be well dear one and don't whack anyone.....well at least hard enough to get charged with assault.
I hope your car ride doesn't get to you too much.
The Olde Bagg
Good for your Mom! She knew what she was doing!
I'm glad she specifically stated this in her will - I take it he had drained her as much as possible in life and she refused to have the rest of you cheated in death. Yay Mom!
I could only hope that my mother would do the same but she will not.
Now THAT is what I call some final words. Good for her!
Love ya... thinking about ya.
When I heard your mom had died, my second thought was, "I wonder what will happen with Skippy's brother in the will?" (My first thought was to pray for you and your family <3) I'm so glad your mom was a smart lady!
I hope everything goes well at the funeral. I know funerals can play on raw nerves of unresolved family issues.
I'm very sorry for your loss.
She saw the light in the end, in more ways than one.
I go away for a few days, and look what I missed. I am sorry about your Mom. After all that you've told me about her, I hope there was something left for you to inherit. Nice one, about your brother. Seems like justice... xxxoooo
Smart mom...
I had to giggle at the thought of you whacking your brother with a cane... It's good that your mom knew what she was doing (or had a good lawyer) to be able to express her desires for what is to be done with her worldly possessions. I never knew that a person had to specifically state in their will the desire to NOT give something/anything to a person in order for them to be excluded until it happened to my bestie's husband (who, btw did NOT deserve to be excluded...but that's another story)
Thinking of you!
I just went back and read about the biggest jerk (etc). O. M. G. that was SUCH a shocking waste of money. Im sorry to hear about it. I hope that there IS something to inherit, if only because it would be fair and just. Hugs for you, hope the Funeral goes OK and no whacking occurs. xxxooo
I think your mom took care of the whacking, don't you? Heh.
word vert:cerste. All of this stress over the rig is making me cerste for a margarita.
Ugh. I just read the entire "biggest jerk I know" link. :(
