One of the side effects of having CHF is memory loss. I think it has something to do with the lack of oxygen in the body - I can't remember. [See?!!]

For example. On Saturday I promised a friend, who is on bed rest, that I would give her a call as soon as Pooldad got home from work with the cellphone.. He arrived home much later than he said, so....
Do you know I can't remember if I forgot to call her or if I did call and I just forgot the freaking conversation. Which I want to assure my friend that it is in no way reflection on her beautiful persona - I simply cannot remember and it is wigging me out. [Please disregard the email if I did, in fact, call you. oops.]
At least I can be thankful that Wallene has a good sense of direction.

Just found out my mom has CHF. She is having memory problems too. I have problems due to a car accident 2 years ago. It is frustrating. I can sympathise with you. I hope everyone is understanding of your condition.
I forget all kinds of stuff. I have no idea why. Partially age. Partially a lack of conscious concern. That sounds bad. My memory is actually very good if I bother trying. But often tidbits fall through the sieve. I'll remember doctor's appointments but forget I promised to drive my daughter somewhere. So I tell people to remind me all the time. My daughter gets annoyed sometimes but she knows it's not that I don't care or want out of things - it just fails to register in my head. Or there is a disconnect with the event and the actual calendar. ie: next Sunday never comes
I have memory problems due to the fact that my head is just too full of stuff! Almost every day here, someone calls and says, "Hey, did you call me? What did you want?" Lordy, how can I know what I wanted when I don't remember calling them in the first darn place?!
i forget things, too. i think part of it is age (we ain't no spring chickens anymore!) and part of it is the amount of information that we're constantly being bombarded with. i actually found it easier to remember all of ron's appointments when he had several per week or per month. now that they've dwindled, i'm forgetting some of them. calendars, calendars, calendars. oh - and don't forget sticky notes.
