So what do you think? Spiffy, ain't it?
It really isn't so bad, but I am feeling pretty sorry for myself right now and I just can't kick this funk. I hate to not be skippy, but honestly the pain is completely wearing me down and to be reduced to transportation [other than my own motor power] to navigate my home? Not an incredibly happy day here in the pond.
On some positive notes: Who knew a wheelchair could be so comfortable? And this is only a rental. It is nice to have my feet somewhat elevated - helps with the pain and swelling, but the best part? This contraption wigs the dogs out. LOL. Everytime I wheel through the living room the big guy scatters and the nazi chases me and tries to chew my toes. It is like a fun obstacle course to the bathroom. I haven't mastered running over Spot yet, but I am trying. hee.
I let the girls goof around on it last night and they were timing themselves on a track through the living room/dining room/kitchen. I think Wallene wins the dexeterity award for handling a wheelchair.
On the low sodium diet front the meals are getting better as I find out more of what I can/cannot eat. Last night Pooldad made the most amazing chicken tenders just for me. There were 9 total and I swear I could've eaten every one, but I left seven for lunch and dinner today. They were so quick and easy!
I did actually have a nice night's sleep - I can't do the stairs anymore so I am sleeping in the living room [how fun] but it was very warm and comfortable and I managed to sleep 5.5 hours without waking up. The bags are still there, but I am feeling a bit more refreshed today. Bonus is I don't have to be away from the family and dogs by staying in my room all the time.
I wish you all a happy day full of love. Take care and talk to you soon.

Let us know when you own your own, we can customize it for you. maybe bunnies on fire, I mean flames.
Hugs to you.
Hey, I know the first time ya hafta use one of those chairs it's a bit depressing until ya realize you are saving yourself for betta things. I have through the years had to use one on 4 separate occasions. This last time I loved being able to get around sans pain so much, I didn't want to give it back.
I can just see you chasing down the dogs, get um Skippy.
So glad you enjoyed my tales on tails...got a million of um and love to share. Gotta get a handle on being in front of this machine with all my lovelies tho...gotta make money to pay for Ms. Willow. And here I thought it was expensive to feed her, nah, it's her drug habit that is gonna put us in the po house. She had a break through seizure last night so here we go again. If I give her mo Elvis pills she just sleeps all the time but that's what gotta be done, so there ya go.
No, you have a beautiful day, feet up, terrorizing the poochies and eatin them thar chicken pieces. Love ya sweetie.....((((hugs))))
I'm sorry you are feeling so crappy lately.
Just think of all the fun you are bringing your girls with your new toy.
Hang in there. Things will get better.
xox
To spice things up a bit I suggest taping a baseball card to the chair so it sticks out between the spokes so as you zoom around the house it sounds like an engine. A slow puttering engine. ;)
And I know it's a rental but other modifications to "pimp your ride" could include:
- streamers from handgrips, along with flame decals.
- chrome rims (see: http://media.volblog.at/27791/20080623-Rolli.jpg)
- cup holder for your drink
- cooler underneath the seat to keep the drinks cold
- harness for your puppies to pull you
The possibilities are endless. :D
Sorry you are in the dumps, my friend. Wish I knew something that would cheer you up. Like Linda said, you are saving all your energy for better things. And you are blessed with wonderful daughters to help you. Glad you are getting some good sleep.
very spiffy wheels, indeed. next time, rent one with a real motor and REALLY wig the dogs out! when Ron gets his motor running, the dog scatters. then when she gets comfortable with it again, the lazy beast want him to drive her around the house on it.
hang in there! hope you're back to normal (whatever that means these days - you know what i mean) in no time at all.
What you really need is a zippy, Skippy scooter. In red, with the aforementioned flames.
I am totally not mentioning the fact that you only ate two chicken tenders because I am assuming they were small and they may indeed have been ginormous. However. TWO. Ahem.
Glad to hear that you made it downstairs where you can be with the family and furkids. That has to help a little, even if you're not really feeling better. XXXXOOOOOXXXX
