The US FDA has approved Benlysta for the treatment of Lupus.
It is the first new treatment in 56 years.
I am so happy for all my friends and "cohorts in crime" :) that this may help. The studies look promising, so hopefully....
The only sad part of the trial [link here] is that it doesn't seem to have an effect on certain Lupus sufferers, so the company has agreed to work harder to make a derivation of this drug to help them too. My fingers are crossed and my prayers are with them that this gets fixed.

I read about it this morning. Fingers crossed.
That's awesome! Lupus seems to be everywhere these days. It would be wonderful if you could get some relief somewhere at last.
This is good news. My fingers are crossed too that anyone with this disease can find some relief. I did not know anything about it till I met you Skippy and read up about it. It's just awful! Research is a wonderful thing. Hugs.
At least it is a start and with todays technology better things should be available soon
that sounds promising. Here's hoping it will help :)
That does sound promising Skippy. I really do hope that it will work for you. At least it's encouraging that they are obviously doing research and coming up with all these different things. When will it become available do you think?
Hi Skippy ((huggles)) Long time no 'see'. Sorry I've been MIA so long. This is wonderful news, I'll keep my fingers crossed for all Lupus sufferers that this will help and that the company can in turn also make other options in case this does not work for some people. :0)
I hope for the best and you get some relief SkippyMom.
Happy for you! Happy, too, that the research moves forward.
This ia great news and I hope it helps you
Hugs. :)

I hope that it gets fixed real soon...
Wonderful news. I know you have been waiting for this for a long time.
Very exciting. So happy for you! Great news.
are you going to be trying this? I'm always thinking of you when these things come up. praying for the best!!!
I am praying that this helps you!!!!! Wonderful news!
That would be awesome! My husband is on coumadin for life, so every two weeks he has to get his blood levels checked.
A new drug is out, not for wide use yet, that he would only have to take one pill twice a day and never have it checked again - fingers crossed both drugs work!
Have a wonderful weekend!
That is awesome news!
