The Final Post . . . For Now

Hello Tadpoles

This is Skippy's daughter, Evelyn (or Wallene for those of you who have been around long enough for those days), and I'm here (accompanied by Pooldad) to update you on our mother's situation.

As of November 3rd, 2015, my darling mother, Janine, passed away. My mom lived a wonderful and full life - having 4 kids, Taylor, Sean, Emily, myself and having two more upon marrying Pooldad, Delaney and Tucker. (not quite in that order) We all loved her very much and while some of us have been separated for some time, we will continue to love her everyday. For those of you who have been around, you know she wanted no more than to take care of us kids and do her best to make us all happy. Some of you have become so close to my mom, and me and my family cannot thank you enough for being there for her during those times when she needed you most, or even in some cases, when we were making mistakes. That being said, we received all of your thoughts and prayers and feel love from all over the country. (and from some of our foreign country tadpoles too <3 nbsp="" p="">
Most of you know from reading her blog that she was never in the best shape, because she was rather sick. There is no doubt in our minds, she always did her best for all of us, and she'll be in our thoughts everyday and we know she'll be there looking over us.

Thank you all again for being there and making my mom happy and sharing your lives with us, because you all are family too.

Mom, you skipped through a beautiful life, and we'll see you again.

Tadpoles, we may update every now and again, but until then, thanks for everything.

Love Always,
Skippy and Family

My sincere condolences! She was a big booster of my book when it came out and her encouragement was much appreciated. She was a giver that is for sure and everyone will miss her. I wish you strength through a difficult time.

I don't need to tell you guys your mom was a wonderful woman. Everything she did, every battle she fought, was for one more day with all of you. We butted heads many times, but I truly believe that there is no one in blogland I would have gotten on in person with better. I only wish circumstances would have allowed that before now, and I look forward to the day I finally get to give her all those hugs I sent. I have always been in awe of her and I will miss her more than I can say.

You and your sister especially, YOU kept her alive. Not to suffer, but to love, a love that spread beyond your home and through the electronic waves to a LOT of people. One of my great blessings in life was to have been one of those people.

For now, the suffering is over. For now, the adventure begins. And we who remain have a light to follow. God bless you all. Take care of your dad, it will take him a while to realize the strength she built in him.

I've been thinking about your Mom a lot the past couple of days, and am so sorry to hear this news. On the other hand, she is no longer in pain and will suffer no more. She was such an inspiration in her illness and it's so amazing that she could keep her spirits up, at least for her readers, through those trying times. I'm sending my condolences and prayers for your family, and I know for myself, I would love to get updates every now and then on how you are doing.

The one thing that always shined through Skippy's posts was how much she loved her family. I hope that thought will comfort you all in the days to come. Hugs to you all. Linda/RVVAGABONDS

2nd Man and I have no words....our hearts are heavy. While we are glad she is no longer in pain, it still hurts for those left behind. You and your family and her friends, and those of us out here, all have a special star in the heavens, watching over us.

Warm thoughts and lots of love...

Hugs,

I am so sorry for your loss. I followed her posts often. However, this last summer I did not have a computer, so I sort of lost touch. I will go back and read the summer posts

Still so sad. She knew how much you all loved her and she lived for you all - you were her world and she was SO VERY PROUD of all of you. Anyone with even a smidgen of brain power could feel the love pouring out of her when she talked about any of the accomplishments of any of the kiddos. She will be sorely missed but her legacy lives on in the lives of those she touched - both far and wide, in her family, in her HUGE circle of friends, and her written words. I hope you leave the blog up because I often like to go back and re-read some of her posts. She never failed to raise my spirits and could kick me in the rear with some of the best. I love you all and will continue to pray for strength and peace. May the happy memories overshadow the sad ones.

Hallo dear Evie. I hope I can call you that. I really feel that I know you all from reading all about you on mum's blog posts, and she knew how much I admired the love between you all. As everyone has said, the love that your mum had for your dad and you, her children, shone out from everything that she wrote. I do hope you can draw comfort from that. She really was SO proud of you. Mum was such an inspiration to all of us and brought light and love into all our lives. My heart goes out to all of you at this sad time. I hope you and Emily have a very happy and successful life in front of you, knowing that your mum will be there with you every step of the way. God bless xx

Oh damn (excuse my language) I can hardly believe she is gone. Sadness seems to be my flavor of the year, and I was pulling for Skippy for many reasons. Not the least is the way she made her readers feel like a member of the family. Her blog is more than a blog; it is a memoir of her life and family. I will miss her.

Ever since I read your post - way back in November, I've been thinking of you and praying for you all. Praying that you have peace and comfort in your love for each other. I just wanted to say that I'm still thinking of you all, as time passes - especially because that is when it becomes for difficult for a bit. Everyone else has sort-of gone on with their lives, but you are still in the midst of your very new grief - so I always think it's important for people to know that I am still thinking of them as time passes. Sending hugs and prayers.
