Look Who's Cookin' Now. . .

Squirrel is in the kitchen:
Doesn't she look great?

She is holding her first, and a most successful attempt at. not to brag on her behalf or anything, St. Patrick's Day dinner.
My baby made it all by herself. No help from roommates, friends or cookbooks/internet.
Just a few refresher phone calls made throughout the day to check times, etc.
Mommas are always better than a cookbook anyway.
Come to think of it, is there even a recipe for Corned Beef and Cabbage?

I am especially proud of her. I had no idea she was even paying attention all these years.

Yknow, we raise them, try to teach them to be good people, nice to others and productive, contributing members of society.  Hopefully, somewhere along the way, we are able to throw in a few lessons on the niceties of life, like cooking and cleaning too, right?

Sigh.  They really DO grow up so fast, don't they? ::sniffles::

Check in with me later this week when the saga of Wallene travelling 1,800 miles from home [without us] begins.

Don't worry. You won't have to look far.  As soon as she is on the road south you will be able to spot me easily.  I will be shoeless woman, wearing the slightly wrinkled "Mellophone Mom" t-shirt, queued up at Dulles Airport being wanded by security. All the while I will be attempting to purchase a last minute plane ticket to Disneyland with no luggage whatsoever.

What?! It could happen.

Hugs and much love Tadpoles. See ya' on the flipside. Skip

I haven't had one of those "how do you cook" phone calls in awhile! When I was in my 30's I was in the hospital with blood clots in my legs, leaving He Who does not cook home with 5 children. He called to ask how to cook rice and I told him, "2 cups rice to 4 cups water, etc" In his infinite wisdom he decided to double it, because the uncooked rice didn't look like enough ....... Unfortunately he didn't double the pot size .....

I had one of those "how do you cook" phone calls many years ago when I was in hospital!!
The nurses and other patients laughed and Matthew never lived it down!!!!

I get those phone calls from my girls often... and they get frustrated when I don't have an exact recipe... most of the stuff I usually make I can eyeball and don't measure! ;)

Hi my friend. Well done to Squirrel. Didn't she do well?! Lovely photo of her as well, looking so proud! So good to see you here today. We had a little flurry of posts from you a little while back, but you've been quiet again. You know how much I worry about you when you're not around. Hope all is well. Take care. Sending you love and hugs from across the pond x

I attended a class in Sacramento and a woman who was there got phone calls from her daughter back in Hawaii: "How do you make chili?"; and another call: "Do you add beans?". Kids are the same all over. My daughter used to call me about cooking but then she married a man who is a fabulous cook. It looks like your girl will be a good cook.

Well done Squirrel :) It looks really great and what a great picture too. My daughter has passed me in regards of cooking, she is a chef and I'm amazed to see the creations she shows at times. They grow up so fast don't they?!
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Big hugs x

Hey, kiddo. Squirrel did gooood! And bonus! made YOU feel good in the bargain. Our daughter used to call for cooking help from time to time, both from her kitchen and from the grocery store, but she hasn't done that in a long time. (sniff Guess she doesn't need me anymore. Then again, her husband DOES cook for a living... 12:34

I loved it when you said that Momma's are better than any cookbook - couldn't agree more!

Hugs!

Consider a substance strip from your dermatologist on the off chance that you are not content with your skin. You can expel dead skin and help new skin develop utilizing a synthetic strip. The result is cleaner and revived skin that shows up.
