And What Were YOU Doing This Morning at 2:30 AM?

Sleeping I hope.  Not the ladies of Sterling, VA tho' - not when we can get pancakes 24 hours a day. . .

We  go to IHOP!

I was actually a lot more awake and definitely more thrilled than I appear in this [crappy cellphone] pic':
It was Wallene's first time going to IHOP for breakfast in the middle of the night.** She was tickled. Of course she managed to text all her friends and tease them about where she was.  Ah, to be 15 again. :D heehee
Yesterday was a big day for the Marching Band.  Wallene and her bandmates participated in the Virginia State High School Marching Band Festival/Competition [?].  She was early to rise and on the go-go-go all day.  The did very well, scoring ones in several categories.  We are so happy for them and very proud. These kids work so hard to do well. It was a nice reward.

Today it promises to be BEAUTIFUL.  Since we went to Mass last night we have a "free day" with nothing scheduled.  I do love going to church, but sometimes it is fun not to have to something scheduled every single day.  Pooldad and I are taking a mini road trip to visit his parents and Grandmother, so that will definitely be fun.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy it as the gift that it is meant to be.

See ya' on the flipside. xoxo Skippy

**Going to get breakfast in the middle of the night is sort of a tradition around here. It is a pretty BIG deal the first time you go, especially if you are 15.  I am just happy my teenager still wants to hang out with me, and enjoys it?

Oh, I remember those days, except we went to Denny's at 2 in the morning!
Hey, how's the elf costume coming along?? :)

I used to do that occasionally, but not since I gave up closing bars ;)

So happy they did well... We don't go to states for another 2 weeks.... It's bittersweet for me as Teenage monster is a Senior and this is her last year! I must be getting old as 2:30 has only been seen if I need to visit the little room in the wee hours.... Man that use to be when everything was just getting started.... The joys of age! Oh, well...... Glad you guys had fun!

I was asleep @round that time- but we have done the breakfast in the middle of the night here as well :) Unfortunately we do not have an I Hop nearby and just this crappy diner... kind of ruins the whole thing :(

Wow that sounds great, that Wallene and her friends did well :-) You look pretty good to me hehe.
My Sunday is nearly ending, it's late evening. Sounds great with a little road trip - a nice break from the normal activities. Enjoy xx
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday my friend!

Breakfast in the middle of the night?!! Well, there's a thing! We certainly don't have anything like that over here. As you say, it's lovely that Wallene still wants to hang out with you, and I'm sure she was really excited!! Well done to her and her friends re. the marching band competition. It's a lovely hobby for her to have, and I know that she couldn't have more supportive parents than you and Pooldad. Enjoy your mini road trip, and I hope it doesn't tire you out too much. Hugs from the other side of the pond x

Now that sounds like my kind of fun! You look more wider awake than I would be, though. Glad you all enjoyed it~

At 230, I was snugly asleep in a hotel room in NH. By 3am, however, Youngest had decided to get up for the day and had marched himself into the shower.

*sigh*

It was a very long weekend...

I think I was tossing and turning at 2:30 AM because my husband was snoring...something that he doesn't normally do, but he is getting a cold (that I am just getting over). I kept moving around hoping that he would shift and that it would stop, but it didn't :-/

I remember the days when I used to stay awake until 2:30 AM (or later) and occassionally went out to breakfast! Fun!

I think that might have been when I got up with the first intense leg cramp. The second one later wasn't so bad and I got back in bed quicker. But after the one at 4:30, I just stayed up. Went out to see the meteor shower but I guess it was too late. I saw a couple out of the corner of my eye but no big show.

People watching at that time of night is always fun. Still, you're making me hungry thinking about breakfast.

There's something I can honestly say I haven't done with any of my kids - of course we don't have an IHOP around here. I have picked them up in the middle of the night but never gone out to eat then. Not sure what would be open around here. Hope you didn't have to "pay" for being out having fun at that time of day.

Breakfast in the middle of the night seems an odd concept. I was working nights so at 02:30am I think I was eating a salad and arguing with a drunk man.

It's been a while for that kind of craziness here. My kids are getting too old (especially the one with the two year old, lol!) and need their sleep.

crappy cell phone pic cannot fully capture the essence of your joy. I could slosh to iHop mid-nighted if I wanna, but would then promptly be arrested for child abandonment. No pancakes for kids that can't pay their way.

Pancakes at any hour is okay by me!! I was up at 1:30 with a cantakerous dachshund and he wanted to eat kibble ....... I wanted to back to bed!

Usually when I hit breakfast at that time of the morning, was because I was out at the bars working until that time!

I have been so swamped at work, sorry I haven't stopped by in a few days - hugs!!
