Welcome!

Looky at my pretty red door:
I have ALWAYS wanted a red door.  And this sucker is RED!  "Nationals Red" to be exact.  So in honor of our favorite baseball team, the Washington Nationals, I broke out my favorite sweatshirt and hat with their logo.
Peace out!
[Our kids are forever doing this when I take their picture. So I took this in honor of Squirrel who is the worst offender of the peace sign gesture.]
Pooldad, bless his heart, painted it this morning for me [while I was still in bed - slug that I am] and he buffed the brass kick plate too.  Doesn't it look fabulous? YAY!

Fair trade tho' - I made dinner and put all the laundry away. [Okay, okay - he washed it, but Tadpoles that is a lot of laundry.]

We are off to see the cherry blossoms in DC tomorrow [We're taking Wallene out of school. shhhhh - it's a doctor's appointment.  I swear.] so that will be a lot of fun.  I will have oodles of pictures for you.  Come back and enjoy the beauty. They sure are something to see.

Have a great week and we'll see ya' on the flipside. :D

ETA:  Now that we have spruced up the front of the house I am beginning to see all the other things we need to spruce up. Isn't that always the way? heehee

The red door looks awesome! Interestingly, in the last week or so on the radio, they were saying that people living in homes with red doors were the happiest :-)

I saw the blossoms today. I'll have lots of photos to blog about when I get home. It's just too hard to do on the iPad.

They are quite abundant right now.

It is sort of a "no good deed goes unpunished" thing. A painted door leads to weeding and planting new flowers. Then you notice that the windows are dirty. Washing them shows you they need re-caulking or maybe the trim needs re-painting. Having extra lights on inside so you can see what you're doing shows you the that overhead light fixture needs washing. By the time you are done "just" painting the door, everything in the house has been cleaned or painted or replaced and your credit card is saying OUCH! LOL!!

That door does look welcoming!

Have a great time surrounded by cherry blossoms. I've only been to DC once during cherry blossom time, and you're right, it's worth the trip. It's worth it to skip school for that bit of eye candy, too.

Enjoy!

I do love a red door! I was contemplating doing red - but more a dried blood red if you know what I mean. I don't think the real red would work on my house - more's the pity.

A red front door is EXCELLENT feng shui!

I love the door! I was painting with red today. A faded stop sign. Now I have to apply white reflective tape to spell out STOP. Time to get the park ready. I have 50 picnic tables to paint, too.
Have fun on your trip!

I know, I know - I'm late. Please don't shout at me!! Look at your long, long legs Missy!!! Love that red door and the brass has come up a treat. I so agree with you that once you have decorated something, it makes the rest of the house look a bit dull! Hugs to you.

I want that door! It's all fancy 'n stuff. But you are awaaay fancier. You're totally making that door look more fantastic than it already is.
