At least that is what my lovely daughter [Wallene] calls them. heehee
Yes, those are my real nails. Yes, I do my own manicure. And no, I haven't cut them in about 2 months. Hey! I hate doing my nails. It's tedious, but they look better with polish [hides all the gunk I get under them. I kid, I kid!] Wallene thinks they look like "Lee Press On Nails" hence why she calls them "Prostitute Nails."
Thank you honey. Such a compliment. ::eyeroll::
Now that I have your attention [with the title] I want to tell you about a new blog I found. It is called Mystic Mud and I have nearly fallen in love with the Mom, the Dad and their 10 [yes, TEN] kids. They relocated from Oregon to the mountains of Tennessee and currently are living on top of a mountain in single wide mobile home with no running water. You guys think I'm upbeat? You have to go read her blog to see what a truly positive attitude is. The whole family is amazing. :) [Tell her Skippy says "Hey!"]
Finally - I heard this quote yesterday and I think it is applicable for a lot of the people I know. Tell me what you think:
"Life is a tragedy for those who feel, but a comedy for those who think."
I laughed, because it is so very true. I see both sides all the time in my friends and family.
Hope you are all having a great week. See ya' on the flipside. :)

They'd be hooker nails here! haha - I'm jealous although, even if I could have fake ones, I couldn't because I'd poke my eye out. I wonder, do you have healthy hair too? Because I have brittle hair and nails and I wondered if there were a correlation.
Tragedy/comedy feel/think...hmmm I'm pretty sure I do both...the tragic came young though before the thinking was up to par. Perhaps it would be good for schools to teach kids to really think then.
I'll check out that blog.
Love the nails. When I used to get my nails done, I would always pick "I'm not really a waitress" which is a really red red. But then I got to where I just wanted the tips to be colors and let me tell you those got wild.
Now I just sit here with unpainted nails of various lengths. :(
I never have long nails - I blame it on the types of hand crafts that I do - but truthfully it is because I rip them off when I am stressed (which is always!)
I think your nails looks great ^_^ Good job on keeping them that long. I always have to cut mine, to be able to type properly on the computer lol. I would love getting my nails done one day. Will go check the blog out.
Have a lovely day my friend! big hugs x
Eva
hehe hooker nails love the color but the length for me kis to long I have trouble enough with my nails only slightly long those would be a murder weapon for me. so cool you do your own i can't i'm a klutz with a nail brush.
My nails are so thin and brittle, but my sister's are perfect. I didn't get that gene.
I'll check out that blog.
Yipes! How in the world can you type with those long nails??? They sure are pretty, though. I've had long pretty nails like that a few times before, but then I end up breaking one, and cutting all the rest.
I like that quote, and God knows, I pretty much laugh myself through life. (Can't change it; might as well laugh about it!)
I wish I could grow my natural nails that long. I haven't had nails like that since I was a waitress and had them done professionally. They were nice to look at but, man, serious pain when I would do something stupid like open a lettuce bin and one would pop off along with my natural nail under it. OUCH! is an understatement. OUCH and lots of profanity...
I'm going to check out that blog you mentioned. I love reading about people who make the best of their situation. I need many lessons in this area.
Hope all is well with you and the gang. :)
Love the quote it is so true.........
I also love your nails my daughter Natasha has beautiful hands and nails unlike me I have small fat hands with short nails........I do envy those who have beautiful nails..
I am now going over to Mystic Mud
I love the nails...and am a little jealous that they grow so well...I don't ever have to worry about cutting mine..they break...that and I can't wear red red on my nails...I love your new blog friend...i read a bunch the other night...I hope you are well...hugs and love to you...
You need to get some hooker heels to go with those nails, but only wear them while you are resting in bed. I don't know how anyone can actually walk on them for very long. I've seen models stumble and fall so I know it isn't just me.
Thanks for the quote today Skip - I needed it! Tony is still not feeling well, so it was a long night. I would switch places with him if I could!
Love that you keep your chin up - I'll do the same! Hugs!

My nails won't grow straight, so I keep them short and unadorned. I am going to check out the new blog. No running water and 10 kids will make me feel fortunate to have a bathroom in any form!
Wow - love the nails. I keep mine painfully short at this point in life - with no running water and endless yard work there just is no point. I was a never a long nail kinda chick anyway....sometimes I wish I was more of one though.
And I love the quote - I'm a pretty non-emotional person, which has it's advenatages and disadvantages, but your quote makes me feel better about the whole thing!
Thanks for the mention on your blog!!
xo~ michele
I think they're pretty sexy!
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't Wallene have an affection for nail hues in the green family?
You have amazing nails. My grandmother used to have strong, beautiful long nails like yours. Mine are too weak to grow like that. I have sad sad nails.
I love the nails and only wish that mine would grow that long and look that great! I have always had horribly weak nails, and nail polish never stays on, either. Your look great!
i have a hard enough time changing the channel without long nails, can't imagine what it is like with those monsters...
they look good as well tho'!~
