What Don't I Tell You Guys?

One of the most positive and happy Tadpoles I know, Colenic, at A Smile a Day was nice enough to bestow the
award to me!
YAY!
Except I am having a little problem....
The rules state that I have to share 5 random facts about myself that you all don't already know.
Uh-huh.  Do you see?  THAT is a problem because, honestly - what have I not shared that you guys don't know?  I have a colonoscopy post for goodness sakes.  I even have posts written under the influence of prescription drugs.  What else is there?

In the interest of being a good blog friend and graciously accepting this award I turned to my wonderful husband and asked him to come up with things to tell you.  He wasn't so wonderful [in my eyes] after he listed  off a bunch of stuff.  In fact, he got the ol' stink eye for about an hour - but he made the kids laugh. :)

So, here you go: [only number 1 is Pooldad's suggestion]
1.  I never put the toilet paper on the dispenser when the old one runs out.  Pooldad says we never argue about which way it should hang [do people really have this argument? seriously?] because I never manage to get a roll on there.  In my defense - one bathroom is only used by me, so who cares? And we don't even have  a contraption to put the dang toilet paper on it in the Master bath.  Evidently, tho', I have been doing this for years.
2.  I used to bite my nails.  I did it until I was 43.  Any pictures you see of me up until then when I had nails? They are fake.  I stopped biting them when I became ill due to dental issues and now I have nice, long nails of my own.
3.  I was nominated "Most Mischievous" by my high school senior class.  My parents were not impressed.  I think they assumed I was goofing off in class.  They preferred that I be nominated "Most Likely to Succeed" or "Smartest".  Yeah, like THAT was going to happen.  Secretly I was tickled my classmates thought I was funny because I have never thought that I am.
4.  I have not had a professional haircut in over 7 years.  I used to cut it myself, but now I let Squirrel cut it.  She does a really good job - even tho' she is a little nervous when doing it.  I tell her not to worry because my theory with hair is "It grows back" and "Ponytails are always an option."  Right?
5.  I have different perfumes for the fall/winter and for spring/summer months.  Does anyone else do this?  I wear Shalimar in the warmer months and Red Door when it is cold.

There you go.  Boring, huh?  Here's the best part tho' - I get to give this award to five other bloggers!  I know  a lot of you have already received it - we are an honest bunch - so if I repeat, my apologies.

Kathy at kathy's kampground kapers - She and he who is married to her run a campground.  Her daily adventures are entertaining and sometimes I wonder how she puts up the public with the grace and patience she does.  I would trip 'em with my cane.

A Hick in California - I don't know if she does awards but I love her blog.  She is so, so funny and incredibly honest so she gets one too!

Yart at My Adventures in Sustainable Living - I love how she calls her husband "Grim" and their kids "the monsters".  Her blog is chock full of tips, ideas and ways to live a self sustaining life.

My pal Jeannie at Going Incognito - No one is more honest than Jeannie.  That is a great thing.  I love reading Jeannie's blog even tho' it IS purple. ;D Her artwork on the sidebar is worth it tho'.

And Leo's Mistress aka Rudee at The Knitting Nurse - life, work, family and knitting at it's finest.  Just reading her greatest hits regarding her in-laws will have you in stitches. Get it?  Stitches? HA!  Okay, okay...

Wishing you a wonderful New Year's Eve.  Hope 2011 is a great year for y'all!

Loved reading those random things about you, Skippy! Mine will appear in a couple of days on my Blog. I can't believe that you don't re-fill the toilet roll thing. I'm the only one in my house that does re-fill it, and it gets right up my nose. LOL!! That's a good idea about the seasonal perfumes by the way! Now why didn't I think of that?! Wishing you and your little family a wonderful New Year filled with magical moments. Hugs.

I bit my nails until I was 24 when I became pregnant--all those hormones finally made my nails stronger so they didn't split and tear and I was able to let them grow.

I too wear Red Door. When I was working, however, I had a cologne for every day of the month more or less. Yep, love the stuff. Except a few years ago the manufacturers seemed to make them smell all the same so I quit buying them. And my favorite fragrance (Knowing by Este Lauder) is no longer made.

I have to go behind folks at work and put the roll on the holder and it has to come off on the front hanging down. If I find it coming off from the back I'll change it. Just me. Have a wonderful new years eve and a fantastic new year.

I have to admit I am one of "those people" who if the roll is on the "wrong way" I change it... the paper should come down over the top thank you very much! And like you I get my nails done- and have been since QB1 was a year old- he's 17 so you do the math... I figure if that is my worst vice *shrug* :)

That's a great list!! My hubby and I have a passive agressive fight about the way the toilet paper is supposed to go- I say from behind, he says from the front so we change it on a pretty regular basis!! Thanks for sharing...

Ah hah! We got some new dirt on ya. Thanks hubby! My hubby used to buy me Red Door. I now wear Fendi in the winter and Amarige in the summer. Great post sweetie...of course I didn't expect anything less. Love ya!

Darling girl, goodness this is quite a list of hidden info. lol As far as the toilet paper, SM and I solved our issue with the TP by not putting it on the holder. No need for energy wasted on fussing, right?
I hope all of you enjoy the ringing in of the New Year. And that the new year woud bring you all that you hope for. Your buddy and member of your fan club, The Olde Bagg, Linda

I let my kid do my hair, too. No cutting, though. Only the flat iron. She's burned me plenty of times. You should git her for that, Skippy.

LOL LOL LOL! loved the random facts. We don't have a problem with how toilet paper hangs, either. Ron can't get it off if he can't pick it up and use two hands, so his sets on the cabinet. The other bathrooms are my domain and the roll goes OVER the top. hehehe! I change it if someone puts it on "wrong" too.

I thought you had the honest scrap award already or i would have sent it your way (i still owe it to the recipients).

Skippy, this is a great idea, getting your family members to pick the five things.
I can't believe you haven't had a professional haircut in seven years, your hair looks terrific, thus Squirrel is quite the creative soul!
Ok, this is the part where I tell you that I smile and chuckle all the way through your post!
Happy new year friend! xoxox

I loved your random things about you :) YES people do actually argue about that! And I've only had one 'professional' haircut EVER :)
Glad everything is ok with Squirrel!!!

I am definitely guilty of NEVER replacing the toilet paper - drives my husband absolutely insane - I tell him though that if I haven't done it in the last 10 years, I sure as hell aren't going to do it the next 10 years! :D

Happy Happy New Year to you - glad I found your blog this year and here's wishing you a happy and HEALTHY 2011! :D

Hey Skippy - Happy New Year. Remember me? The Canadian who sent Wallene a b-day present. I have a new blog now. I really must post a copy of the postcard Wallen sent me. It still brings a smile to my face. Hope you can come over and look me up - http://mywinningyear2011.blogspot.com/

Wow Babe. I didn't ignore you - I missed this post altogether! I find this happens all too often these days. I'm becoming quite the space cadet. Or blogger does some strange time warp thing and things don't appear until days later on my thingy.

I'll get on this today...maybe.

Thanks! & ((Big Hugs))
