You Should've Signed A Pre Nup Sparky

Steven always told me that when we were married he would give me the "sun, the moon and the stars."

What he also told me was I had to agree to never ask for a swimming pool.  A swimming pool adjacent to any home we ever owned.

Y'all do know that his nickname Pooldad has a purpose?
Right?
Right. hee

[I know you do. That was just for any new Tadpoles paddling in, you understand.]

I have held fast to this promise and have never asked.  In turn I have pretty much received all he promised.

However, I did not realize that my lovely husband has a huge pet peeve.

It is something I do for extended amounts of time and I will look up occasionally to find him shaking his head and handing me a new, better set of headphones.

And mouthing to me "Just WEAR them."

When I met Steven he had a side job as a DJ.  One of our great loves and something we share intimately is our love of music.  He is a walking encyclopedia of music [and a huge fan of CW at Tilting at Windmills, as am I. Visit. You'll see why.]  He loves that I know darn near as much as him in the music department and is sometimes astounded that I will sing along to songs he picks to play.

Yeah, I am all that. Dontcha' know? ::grin::

I do have one terrible habit tho'.

[Okay,I have several bad habits, but let's concentrate on just the one in this post, shall we?]

I can get hooked on one album or one band/singer and play them incessantly over a series of hours, days, weeks. . . well. . . let's just say. . . the latest has been going on for almost two months.

He is being very generous these days, taking into consideration the tenuous nature of . . .me.

But even I know he wishes he had allowed me the swimming pool and had asked instead that I limit my playing of *Adele* to just an hour a day.
On every third day.
During the second week of each alternating month.

I can't help it.

But, hey, the newest pair of headphones are pretty sweet.

Have a great Monday Tadpoles.  See ya' on the flipside. xo Janine

What I've heard of Adele I've thought was okay, if (gasp) overplayed. But that's okay because I live in the 60s and 70s and don't run into her much.

Hey, thanks for the pimping! That's Time Machine, Fridays at 9 AM on Tilting At Windmills, http://humbleauthorbsp.blogspot.com!

And I totally understand about the overplay. When I got the Beach Boys' That's Why God Made The Radio, it played for a solid week, and on and off for the next few months. It's like you have to play something until it's permanently jammed into your soul.

I had to laugh at this because I sing out loud in the car pretty much all the time. I have a fairly good voice, but when I drive with Tony, I drive him apeshit by singing off key, and it just makes me laugh and laugh!!

Dammit about all those peaches for the pies! I have been known to do the same thing - trying something different to see if its even better than what I normally do (such as pizza crust) and just shake my head when it doesn't turn out.

Happy Monday - hope its warmer in your neck of the woods today - no need you pulling out all your sweaters in July! :D

There are probably a few hundred people who wish I'd thought of gifting Gary with headphones years ago. He doesn't do it so much now, but he used to play Irish folk music and Leonard Cohen incessantly. And loud. At home - not so much a bother to anyone but those inside - but at the trailer, the entire place was subjected to his choice in music. And he is one of those who believes with all his heart that if he likes something, it is the ultimate in good taste and if you don't like it, then you are wrong and need to learn to appreciate it and will give you ample opportunities to do so (he still does not understand that I hate lima beans and all their cousins with more passion than I have for anything else and WILL NOT get over my revulsion)

Anyway, I like Adele too - and I listened like crazy a couple years ago but not when other people were around. Also, Florence and the Machine. Got no earworms right now though. Well, maybe a minor ongoing Pearl Jam or STP but I do not inflict it on others.

I can sympathize with your hubby on this one. When our younger son "discovered" Simon & Garfunkel years ago, he played "Turn, Turn, Turn" over and over and over and over... all freaking day for about a week. As much as I like that song, I got sick sick sick of hearing it.

Me? I do something worse. I SING the same song over and over and over. It gets stuck in my head, and I'll sing it continuously without even being aware that I'm doing it, until my hubby, sweet guy that he is... (ahem) points it out to me.

Love her. Something about that sultry voice, takes me back to the jazz singers and smoky clubs (not that I'd ever want to sit in one, but you get the image) with the piano players and girls a' singing on top. :)

I out a cassette of Evita in the car player and played it for nine months straight. No one else was there to annoy. I tend to do that. I put Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" on a cassette about a dozen times and played it often.

Lately, I don't have a cassette player, but I put a cd of Rod Stewart's American Songbook (I think) in the player and just played it for days at a time. I love Rod Stewart, but would go crazy if I had to listen to Adele very long.

Don't like Adele that much, but I wouldn't push you outta the car for playing it constantly!!
I have to listen to meatloaf or Bon Jovi when i'm in the car with Lou.
I'm not allowed to subject her to John Denver, the Flying Pickets, Lesley Garrett or anything remotely classical.
Payback with be mine if I ever can afford to buy a car!!!!

Been there, done that! :) I have played one song over & over until I drive my husband & daughter crazy! After a month or so, a new song becomes the favorite & it starts all over again.

Funny thing- this last time, I have a song my daughter showed me (that I don't even like) stuck in my head. I keep singing the chorus over & over & over. It just won't go away! I mean, it's not even a happy song. It would be a lot better if it was at least a happy song. I would post a link, but I do not wish to offend anyone.

Utilize a forehead gel to animate development in scanty eye temples. Regardless of whether you have normally meager foreheads or got somewhat overeager with the tweezers, a temples gel can help develop hair back. Search for one that has included protein. Meanwhile, use fillers to conceal the slight territories. AAPKI NEWS
